Dalmeny Birch Linocut by C Staunton

Printmaker

Charlotte's work radiates with sumptuous textures and meticulous details, mirroring nature’s tranquillity and fostering mindfulness and connection

Charlotte, a linocut printmaker based in London, expertly employs reduction and multiblock linocut techniques to craft exquisite limited edition prints. The essence of Charlotte's art radiates with sumptuous textures and meticulous details.

Every creation draws you into a realm where serenity emanates from both real and envisioned landscapes. Mirroring nature’s tranquillity, soothing complexity and rich tapestry of colour, Charlotte’s prints cultivate a profound sense of mindfulness and contemplation.

Earlier work explores themes of restriction and the implied position of the viewer, navigating boundaries, such as branches and objects obstructing the view or trapping the viewer. These works open questions about the presence and placement of the viewer, whether they are withdrawing or looking upon a scene.

Charlotte is a member of Southbank Printmakers, North London Printmakers, East London Printmakers, The Printmakers Council and Barnet Guild of Artists where she holds the position of Printmaking tutor. In 2024, ‘Dalmeny Birch’ was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Among her recent accolades including exhibiting at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024, Charlotte was awarded the Hawthorn Printmaker's Prize at 2025 Festival of Print, and Cranfield Colours' 'Most creative use of colour' prize at Southbank Printmakers 2025 Mini Print exhibition,.
